The selection of CSL Americas as a 2015 Workplace Hero by the American Red Cross brings welcome recognition to ongoing efforts by its employees to help alleviate hunger and poverty in Beverly, Massachusetts, the community in which the division is based.

CSL Americas was nominated for the award by Beverly Bootstraps and The Open Door, two local organizations dedicated to providing critical services to community members in need of assistance. Over the years, CSLers have donated to the two charities through numerous volunteer initiatives, food drives and fundraising events.

CSL believes strongly in being a good neighbor and giving back to the community. This award recognizes the countless hours that many CSL employees have happily dedicated to improving the lives of Beverly’s less fortunate.

Heather Johnston, Director of Donor Relations at Beverly Bootstraps, outlined CSL’s contributions in the award citation: “CSL and their staff not only contribute financially, but also volunteer their time to help on the ground by making holiday food bags, delivering summer lunches and really getting to know the needs of our clients.”

The citation says CSL’s contributions amounted to a “high standard of community commitment for the rest of us.”

The award was announced March 18, 2015, at the 13th annual Heroes Breakfast hosted by the Northeast Chapter of the American Red Cross. The event recognizes citizens and organizations making a difference in the North Shore and Essex County community.

The award was also acknowledged by Massachusetts Senator Joan B. Lovely, who issued an official Senate citation congratulating CSL Americas for its contributions to the North Shore community.
