What We Do
At CSL Americas, we specialize in the marine transportation and handling of dry-bulk cargo throughout North, South and Central America. Working with partners Oldendorff Carriers, the Torvald Klaveness Group, Marbulk Shipping Inc. and Algoma Shipping Inc. under the banner of the CSL International Pool, we offer our customers a wide-range of self-unloading and transhipment solutions. This CSL International Pool manages a fleet of 26 ocean-going self-unloaders, 11 of which are wholly owned by CSL.
With our Pool partners, we offer a range of vessel sizes, from Handy to Panamax, delivery systems from articulated to telescopic, as well as the option for straight discharge booms, depending on the needs of our customers.
CSL Americas recently welcomed the Rt. Hon. Paul E. Martin, a new CSL Trillium Class self-unloading Panamax vessel, to Port Sechelt, British Columbia. As part of CSL's fleet renewal program, she was deployed for service upon arrival and promptly loaded her first aggregate cargo for discharge in the San Francisco area. She will operate throughout the Americas and be joined by two sister Trillium Class Panamax ships, the CSL Tacoma and the CSL Tecumseh, slated for delivery in 2013.
Our clients are in industries ranging from steel to agriculture. The cargo we transport includes salt, aggregate, coal, petcoke, gypsum and iron ore.
Where We Operate
CSL Americas operates throughout North American coastal trades, including shipments to and from Canada, and South and Central Americas. Domestic shipping within Canada is handled by the Canada Steamship Lines division.
