Self-Unloaders

Atlantic Huron

Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway

MV Atlantic Huron was built in 1984 and converted to a self-unloading vessel in 1989.

The unloading system features hopper shaped cargo holds, hydraulic cargo gates, two tunnel conveyors, a ‘C’ Loop elevating belt and a unloading boom.

The variable speed unloading system consists of hoppered holds with 35-degree slopes and hydraulically operated gates. Two tunnel conveyors run the length of the vessel and feed two cross conveyors that run athwartship. A single loop belt elevating system that raises the material to the main deck and onto the vessel’s 79 m unloading boom. The boom hood allows for dust free discharges.

MV Atlantic Huron is wholly owned and operated by CSL.
